How Invisalign Works

Invisalign dental treatment involves a system of wearing a series of clear aligners. Each of these is designed to move your teeth a specified amount, getting you closer and closer to your desired end results. The aligners resemble whitening trays or retainers, and they’re custom-made based on your treatment plan. You’ll wear the aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, and then swap them out for the next set every two weeks. The great part of moving through your series of aligners is that you’ll be able to see clearly how much progress you’ve made and how your smile is improving.

What Invisalign Can Fix

Crowding - Move overlapping teeth back to their proper positions.

Spacing - Close up gaps to bring teeth back next to each other.

Overbites - Shift teeth so upper teeth don’t excessively protrude over lower teeth.

Underbites - Correct teeth so lower, front teeth don’t jut out and cover upper teeth.

Crossbites - Line up the upper and lower teeth properly so they meet in the middle.

Clear Advantages of Invisalign

As of 2019, here are some of the major advantages of using Invisalign technology that our patients love.

Virtually Invisible

Invisalign aligners are made from clear, BPA-free plastic, and they’re designed to fit snugly around your teeth. Chances are that people will not even be able to you’re wearing them when you have them in.

Completely Removable

You can take the aligners in and out, which means you don’t have to change how or what you eat. It also means that you can continue to brush and floss them like normal, without having to worry about special maintenance to keep your teeth clean, meaning you can still eat cookies and chew gum without a problem.

More Gentle Material

Since the aligners are made from smooth plastic, they’re more gentle on your teeth, gums, and cheeks compared to the metal brackets and wires of conventional braces.

Fewer Office Visits

Invisalign treatment only requires quick check-ins at the dentist site every six weeks or so. You’ll spend less time at our office and more time enjoying your daily life.
